Steve Nash must complete 10 days worth of workouts before returning to the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Bill Oram of the Orange County Register. Nash is expected to miss a minimum of two weeks as he deals with nerve root irritation that has caused him issues through the start of the season.
The Lakers embark on a three-game road trip beginning Tuesday and Nash is expected to travel to Vancouver to work with his personal therapist, per Lakers reporter Mike Trudell. He will return to the team when they are back in Los Angeles on Nov. 30.
It remains unclear whether the time off and retreat to Canada will be enough for Nash to return to the court, but he is exploring his options for his recovery. It's rare to see a player leave team doctors to seek treatment elsewhere, though Nash has dealt with physical ailments throughout his career and it's fair to assume he works with a great therapist.
While there is a "return" date for Nash, that does't mean he will immediately return to playing or practice. There's still no firm update on his progress and status going forward.
