Jordan Hill hurt his hip Sunday against the Denver Nuggets and did not travel with the team. Further tests revealed that Hill will need surgery which will require him to miss the remainder of the season. Jordan Hill was averaging 6.7 points per game and 5.7 rebounds per game, but his non-stop motor and effort were invaluable for a team that has played flat routinely through the season. Pau Gasol remains out with his concussion, and Dwight Howard will not play again until he is completely pain free after injuring his shoulder.

This is a terrible loss for the Lakers bench, as Hill was becoming a presence off the bench with his hard-nosed offensive rebound. It's just been that kind of season for the purple and gold.
