Morning, sunshine! Not sure how many of you are awake at this hour - I'm sure as hell not - but those of you who managed to roll out of bed get to watch Team USA make its 2012 Olympics debut against France. The game's at 6:30 a.m. California time and of course is on NBC.
Probable starters for France are old friend Tony Parker at point guard, Nando De Colo (who recently signed with the Spurs) at shooting guard, Nicolas Batum and Boris Diaw at the forward spots and Kevin Seraphin at center. Also on the team is former Laker superstar Ronny Turiaf.
This is the first time France has qualified for the Olympics since 2000. That, you'll surely recall, was the year Vince Carter decapitated Frederic Weis with possibly the greatest dunk in history. Team USA is 4-0 all time against France with an average margin of victory of 31 points. That is so many points!
I'm now out of facts about this game.
