It's a carnival of hoops! There are two, not one but two, games this afternoon/evening you'll want to keep an eye on. Unfortunately they run almost simultaneously, but you kids with your ePhones and satellite watches should have no problem keeping up.
The first, which starts at 5:00 California time, pits Team USA against Brazil in a pre-Olympics friendly. The red, white and blue are in D.C., which means President Obama gets to see them in person tonight. Brazil should present a more taxing challenge than the Dominican Republic, whom the Americans vaporized last week. Brazil hasn't fared that well in recent international competitions but their roster includes NBA bros Nene, Anderson Varejao, Leandro Barbosa and Tiago Splitter. The game's on ESPN2.
Then at 5:30 on NBA TV (or Summer League Broadband, if you got it), the Lakers' summer-league squad (0-2) takes on the Heat (1-0). Some guys you might recognize on the Heat's roster include point guard Norris Cole and center Dexter Pittman. Oh, and for you SoCal locals there's Drew Viney, who played at LMU.
Enjoy!
