If the Lakers are to capitalize from the confidence gained after Sunday's win against Miami, a great place to start is on the road. The Lakers are only 6-12 away from the bright lights of Staples Center. This afternoon, the Lakers will take on the Detroit Pistons in the first of a three-game road trip, that also sees the Lakers making stops at Washington and Minnesota. Asked about the upcoming games, Andrew Bynum said:

We’re playing better right now. We got a road trip ahead of us that I think if we get all those three games, come back and beat Boston… that’s our goal. These next four are big for us.

The third month of the year also means a more predictable schedule for the Lakers, as the next three weeks offers a welcome rhythm of games: Sun-Tues-Wed-Fri, repeat. With the trade deadline looping just nine days from now, the next 6 missions games are vastly important.

Elsewhere Around the League, Brook Lopez out 3 weeks with a sprained right ankle, Thunder rally back to beat the Mavs, Rip Hamiltion injures shoulder and the NBA is looking into placing ads on the front of jerseys.
