Ah yes, the rare Saturday-matinee game. The Lakers have one or two of these a year, always against a dumpster-rat opponent. Today it's the Hornets, and given their involvement (another chance to re-discuss the Chris Paul trade, yay!) and the odd tip-off time, I think we can count on this being the least-watched Laker game of the year.
For the Hornets, this is game four of a five-game West Coast jaunt. They sandwiched a victory over the woeful Warriors between losses to the Clippers and Blazers. Marco Belinelli was off the chain up in Portlandis: he buried 7 of his 11 three-point attempts in the loss.
Take another swig of the '97 Blanc de Noires Vielles Vignes Francaise you bought with your Mega Millions winnings whenever someone mentions:
- Russell Westbrook,
- Jason Smith's flagrant foul on Blake Griffin,
- The number of games separating the Lakers and Clippers in the standings,
- Eric Gordon's injury, or
- Baseball season.
I'll leave you to it.
