Steve Blake is your starting point guard tonight. It's the first time the Lakers started someone at point other than Derek Fisher since May 8, 2009. Remember that? Silver Screen and Roll was but a month-old website baby. The Lakers were in Game Three of their second-round playoff series against the Houston Rockets, and Fish was suspended for his hit on Luis Scola. Those were simpler times. More innocent times. Tonight will be a little strange.
Expect to see both Ramon Sessions and Jordan Hill tonight. Sessions will wear number 7. Hill will become the first Laker in Los Angeles to wear number 27. Welcome, you two! (I'd be surprised if we see any Christian Eyenga in this one, but welcome to him as well.)
Raise a glass to Fish's memory whenever someone mentions:
- The "new look" Lakers,
- How they almost traded for Michael Beasley,
- Ricky Rubio's torn ligament,
- How Derrick Williams is from La Mirada, or
- Norfolk State.
18 straight?
