In the last game before the NBA's trade deadline, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the New Orleands Hornets, 107 to 101 in OT. It was the Lakers' 9th road victory of the season and the first back-to-back win away from Staples Center. Kobe Bryant led the comeback with 33 points and a perfect 11-11 from the line as the Lakers clawed back from a 17-point deficit. Pau Gasol contributed 18 and 10 while his Andrew Bynum continued his strong play with 25 points and 18 boards, most of which came in the 2nd Half. Derek Fisher on the overtime wins:

I feel great. Last night, Steve (Blake) did a wonderful job finishing out the game and playing both overtimes. Tonight, it was my turn to finish out the game. Our big three of Andrew (Bynum), Pao Gasol) and Kobe carried us again tonight. Metta’s defense down the stretch was just unbelievable. So this is another great team win for us.

The Lakers sit 3rd in the West, behind San Antonio and OKC. Considering everything that has happened thus far in the season, this could already be considered a successful season. Of course, this is the Los Angeles Lakers, and success is measured in Championships. If the Lakers are to compete for one a ring, some moves have to be made and if reports are true, these moves are already in the works.

Elsewhere Around the League, the Dwight Howard Saga continues, the Bulls defeat the Heat and Mike D'Antoni out of New York. Yup, today is gonna be a crazy day.
