BREAKING NEWS: The Lakers did not fire all of their scouts. They kept the most important one, the one who pours drinks for visitors. His name is Charles "Chaz" Osborne. As reported by Trey Kirby of The Basketball Jones, and posted on the front page of Silver Screen and Roll, here's a little of what we know about Chaz.

That’s right, the book on Chaz is that he’s a former bartender who also happens to be longtime friends with Jim Buss from their days in the horseracing business.

Then there's this, from Jonathan Givony, @DraftExpress, on Tuesday. Have we misjudged Chaz?

As someone who attended dozens of NBA scouting events over the last 8 years, I can say Lakers scout Chaz Osborne is just as professional and as hard a worker as any scout you'll come across. His background might be different, but that doesn't mean he doesn't do his job well.

There is still much drama in Lakerswood as accounts of dysfunction in the Lakers' front office makes headlines around the league. Kobe Bryant is said to be showing a "softer side" in his defense of Pau Gasol's feelings, but no one believes he's going to win the battle with Mitch Kupchak. The Lakers have many issues to address, hopefully sooner rather than later. They have risen from the ashes before, and they will do so again....right?
