Lakers shopping Jordan Hill, entire bench

In a shocking revelation, the Lakers are considering moving Jordan Hill and essentially anyone on their bench not named Jodie Meeks or Antawn Jamison for help in their backcourt.

USA TODAY Sports

Lakers? Trade rumors? Yep. Steve Kyler of Hoopsworld.com recently published a roundup of the trade market that is beginning to shape up in the NBA and reports that the Lakers aren't just considering moving Pau Gasol, but Jordan Hill, and pretty much any player on the bench aside from Antawn Jamison, Jodie Meeks, and Metta World Peace (recent bench addition).

Gasol isn’t the only player the Lakers have explored moving, sources near the situation say the Lakers would like to open up a roster spot to add a new player or two so don’t be surprised if guys like Jordan Hill, Devin Ebanks, Darius Morris or Darius Johnson-Odom are moved in exchange for a backup point guard or a second round draft pick in order to open a spot for the Lakers to sign one. - Steve Kyler, Hoopsworld

With Mike D'Antoni's recent sentiment in moving Hill out of the rotation as he begins to re-acclimate Pau, it comes as no surprise the Lakers would look to move what has become an excess player on the roster for help where they truly need it-- in the form of a backup point guard. It's also worth noting that Hill CANNOT be traded until January 15th, and that Devin Ebanks has a no-trade clause. Updates as they come.
