Lakers Vs Jazz

Opponents try climbing out of early-season holes at the expense of one another.

Kirby Lee-US PRESSWIRE

Amid reports that many players have started wondering whether Mike Brown is the right coach for this team, the Lakers hit Utah tonight to face another Western Conference squad that's underachieved so far. Like the Lake Show, the Jazz are just 1-3. They're coming off a three-game road trip in which they got swept by the Hornets, Spurs and Grizzlies. At 11th in the league in efficiency their offense has been fine. The Jazz defense, though, is ranked just 18th.

Mo Williams is off to an All-Star caliber start, and Gordon Hayward and Paul Millsap are capably filling second and third banana roles. But Al Jefferson isn't scoring well and a change of scenery for Marvin Williams hasn't kept him from playing like Marvin Williams. Despite their early stumbles the Jazz are favored by three in this one, a sign of how little confidence the world has in the Lakers right now.

Let's hope the Lake Show turnaround continues. Enjoy the watching and typing.
