Los Angeles Lakers forward Jordan Hill has a herniated disk and will be re-evaluated by the team next week, according to Kevin Ding of the Orange County Register.
Hill was in pain and seen using a heat pad on his back late in the Lakers' preseason loss to the Golden State Warriors on Sunday in Fresno. Hill figures to be a key component of a revamped Lakers bench that was strengthened by the addition of newcomers Jodie Meeks and Antawn Jamison.
The Lakers lost in a rout to the Warriors on Sunday, 110-83. Hill was tied with Kobe Bryant and Metta World Peace in leading the team in scoring, amassing 10 points in 20 minutes and going 5-of-11 from the field with three rebounds and three assists.
Hill looks to play significant minutes in 2012-13 behind Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard. He came on strong late last season and during the playoffs.
