Kobe Bryant to miss remainder of preseason

And that's a wrap for Kobe Bryant's preseason. Mark Medina reports that Kobe will sit out the remainder of preseason with a bruised foot.

Bryant will sit out of the team's final two exhibition games because of a bruised and strained right foot. The Lakers play the Clippers tonight at Staples Center and then travel to San Diego where they will go against the Sacramento Kings Thursday in their final exhibition .

While disappointing, considering we all want to see the Lakers starters continue to figure things out, the extra week of rest prior to the opening tip-off for the actual season can't hurt. Jodie Meeks and Devin Ebanks should see extended minutes at the two slot with the starting lineup flanking them, so this is a good exercise to see them settle down as complementary role players.

On the plus side, there has been no indication that this is an injury that will force Bryant to miss any time going into the regular seasons, so no harm, no foul.
