Lakers-Trail Blazers Open Thread

Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard will sit out tonight's game in bustling Ontario.

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Tonight the Lakers' preseason tour takes them to Ontario, Canada California. I'm honestly not sure what Ontario's all about, but I know it has an airport, and what I learned while studying at Wikipedia University is that it's the 15th busiest cargo airport in the United States. Citizens Bank Arena, where the game against the Portland Trail Blazers is happening at 7:00, is owned by Anchutz Entertainment Group, which also owns Staples and a piece of the Lakers, and is home to one of the L.A. Kings' minor-league affiliates.

Dwight Howard won't play tonight. Nor will Kobe Bryant, who's out with a strained right shoulder and listed as day-to-day. As for the Blazers, they're still anchored by the trio of LaMarcus Aldridge, Wesley Matthews and Nicolas Batum, and if that doesn't strike you as the core of a Western Conference playoff team in the year 2012... I guess you're probably correct.

The game is on the new Lakers network that very few of us have. Unfortunately, we can't permit posting of links to online streams. Thanks for understanding.
