Matt Barnes Aims to Return This Week, and Other Laker Off-Day News

Matt Barnes - won't play tomorrow in Minnesota but hopes to return either Friday against Charlotte or Sunday in San Antonio. Per Mike Trudell, Barnes practiced with the team today and looked good, according to Phil Jackson. Speaketh the man himself:

I felt really good running today, getting up and down well, jumping, rebounding and shooting the ball. But there's still a lot of the season left and once I come back I want to make sure I don't have to take nights off because of this or that. Hopefully we'll have one more practice like we did today, maybe Thursday, and we'll see what's up for (a return) on Friday or Sunday.

Steve Blake - apparently threw an alley-oop to himself in a pick-up dunk contest after practice today. This also comes from Mr. Trudell, who's possibly just screwing with us at this point to see what crazy nonsense we'll believe.

Lamar Odom - was the last defender to hold Kevin Love without a double double. Mmm... double double....

Mike Bibby - was bought out by the Wizards and is looking to sign with a contender. Chris Broussard says the Lakers are interested, but it very much sounds like he'll end up in Miami.

Tony Parker - is out two to four weeks with a strained calf and will sit out the Spurs' game against the Lake Show on Sunday.

Some Guy - recorded himself doing this.
