The Lakers Are in Decent Health for Opening Night

The Lakers today practiced for the penultimate time before facing the Houston Rockets on Tuesday. Mike Trudell, the official beat reporter for the team, was there and has published a helpfully comprehensive injury report. Click here if you'd like to read the full thing. The highlights are these....

Kobe Bryant - appears to have suffered no ill effects from the 34 minutes he played Friday against Golden State. He's good to go for the opener.

Lamar Odom and Theo Ratliff - are likewise good to go despite sitting out Friday's game.

Derrick Caracter - doesn't seem bothered anymore by his previously sore back. He's ready to play.

Luke Walton - is out for Tuesday. His hamstring injury is still in an aggravated state.

Andrew Bynum - has been on the treadmill and shooting but has not done any jumping.

On the whole, the squad isn't in terrible shape (aside from the Bynum thing, of course). Everyone seems to have recovered from the Europe trip, and there aren't too many little owies still to worry about. Thanks much to Mike for the updates.
