The Lakers finished this season with 26 wins which was legitimately their first actual season of the rebuild. With now Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka having taken over the front office, many Laker fans believe the Lakers are destined for a star player like Paul George. But the clear question is should the Lakers continue their rebuild process? The answer is yes.

To start, this young Lakers team is not that bad if you look at the circumstances that had to deal with this season. They got off to a tremendous and unexpecting start of 10-10 and then was derailed with multiple injuries to players like Nick Young, D'Angelo Russell and Julius Randle. The Lakers never seemed to find their momentum after the three came back from injury. Throughout the entire season, we've seen flashes of greatness from Brandon Ingram, Julius Randle and D'Angelo Russell and we have seen some great things from head coach Luke Walton. Russell averaged 15.6 points and 4.8 assist on the season - and averaged 19.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 6.1 assist PER 36. Julius Randle averaged 13.2 points and 8.6 rebounds and 3.8 assist with three triple doubles this season. Ingram in his rookie season struggled shooting this season but finished the season strongly.

The Lakers have an opportunity to obtain a top 3 pick which they can use on Markelle Fultz, Josh Jackson or Lonzo Ball. Preferably, many Laker fans want Lonzo Ball so that they can have a pass first point guard while D'Angelo Russell moves over to the shooting guard - no haters, drafting Ball does not mean Russell will be traded. Ball has a lot of potential to be a good point guard in this league which could intrigue many Laker fans and then it could be intriguing to Larry Bird if the Pacers really do want to trade for a young talent.
