The latest Los Angeles Lakers player to reveal their NBA 2K17 rating is Julius Randle. The third-year power forward shared his rating on Twitter, and he received a 77 overall:
S/O to @Ronnie2K & @NBA2K. What you guys think? pic.twitter.com/cYOwxNiH3Y
— Julius Randle (@J30_RANDLE) August 26, 2016
Randle’s ranking compares with his fellow young Lakers, as D’Angelo Russell received a 79, Larry Nance, Jr. got a 75, and Jordan Clarkson had and identical-to-Randle 77.
Some may disagree with these scores, but ultimately 2K isn’t rating for future potential. They are trying to reflect what the Lakers’ bring to the floor right now, and with the team projected to be one of the worst in the league this season, that’s not much.
If things go the way the Lakers plan, then these ratings will look a lot different in a few years. For now, however, fans will just have to enjoy trying to win with their favorite team despite starting games at a talent deficit (or just boost all the sliders to 99).
Is Randle’s rating too low? Too high? Just right? Let us know what you think in the comments below. You can follow this author on Twitter at @hmfaigen.
