LeBron James?

With the Cleveland Cavaliers capturing their first ever NBA title last night, everyone is wondering what's next for LeBron James. According to Stephen A. Smith via ESPN First Take, LeBron may good and well find his way out of Cleveland after fulfilling the life long promise of bringing a championship to Cleveland, and who is the team with the best odds to obtain him? The Los Angeles Lakers.

Stephen A. indicated that the Lakers may be the best suited for LeBron James along with the Miami Heat due to LeBron caring about his personal brand as well as basketball. He said that wearing the purple and gold with elevate his brand even further. Also now that Kobe Bryant is gone, he takes over as the leader of the team and would likely demand changes (heads up Luke Walton).

I am two sided on this idea. I like the idea but at the same time I really don't. Why I like this idea is because LeBron James is known to make everyone better around him. He elevated guys like J.R. Smith, Matthew Dellavedova, and Tristan Thompson into great role players. So imagine putting LeBron with a nucleus thats includes D'Angelo Russell, Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. Also LeBron is known as the Player Executive of the Year for a reason, he attracts free agents to play where he plays.

And why I don't like this is because of how much confidence I have in Brandon Ingram. Sure the Lakers could very well get LeBron and Ingram together but it would somewhat stop Ingram's growth. Also I piggyback off of what LeBron has said a few years ago before returning to Cleveland, he never felt or feels that LA is a desirable destination for him. LeBron is also known to be a coach killer. By getting David Blatt fired and having Ty Lue, sure it made the difference in the result of the season but imagine if LeBron and Luke Walton were to bump heads.
