Most people don't know this, but the reason Thing 1 and Thing 2 wear shirts with their names on them is because they were starting to get sick and tired of people mixing them up. You would not think D'Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson would have the same problem given that they basically look nothing alike while the Dr. Seuss characters are identical, but maybe they need names on the fronts of all of their clothing as well.
Russell was forced to sit out of all but 15 minutes of the Los Angeles Lakers' fourth day of training camp on Friday due to pain from a bone bruise sustained in his right foot, but the rookie still spoke to the media after practice. After Russell described his and Clarkson's rapidly growing friendship as the two of them being like "Thing 1 and Thing 2," a reporter accidentally called him "Jordan," and Russell did not appreciate the name change, as you can see via this video D'Angelo posted to his Instagram account:
If Russell has as successful of a year in his rookie campaign as Clarkson had during his breakout campaign last season despite being about 4 years younger and less experienced, then maybe that is a situation where he would not mind being compared. But until then, please stop calling D'Angelo Russell "Jordan," Lakers' reporters.
