With Mike D'Antoni soon to be relieved of his duties, Phil Jackson gone to NY and Coach K staying at Duke, there seems to be a certain level of consternation building around whom the Lakers can possibly come up with to fill the very large shoes of a new leader for their franchise.
There is only one person who meets a variety of qualifications necessary.
The new coach must be someone with who Mitch Kupchak, Jeanie and Jim Buss are comfortable with. He must also be someone who has the respect of #24. He must have proven leadership qualities and know the NBA game today. Not only must he know the league, but he must understand todays players, their mindsets, their goals and their personalities. He must embrace challenges. He must know how to handle pressure and have a winning track record.
Ladies and gentlemen, introducing the next Lakers head coach, Derek Fisher.
