Robert Sacre is a little larger than my brother Montgomery.
In light of tonight's possible drubbing, just wanted to share a positive story about the Lakers.
Last week, when I emailed the Lakers Community Department, I did not really expect a reply beyond some automated "Thank you for contacting the Lakers, we love our fans..." etc. What I actually got was far beyond anything that they were obligated to do and I just wanted to share this wonderful experience with Lakers fans at large.
So as I mentioned before, last week I emailed the Lakers Community Relations Department, just explaining that my brother was turning 18 this week, has watched almost every game with me this season, and that one of the few bright spots was the affinity he had developed for Robert Sacre and his exuberant bench celebrations (Like many Lakers fans, the bench is the first place both of us look after any positive play now). A few days later, I received a response from them, saying that they would love to send some Sacre gear my way and asking for my address. I was overjoyed, as well as being in complete disbelief, when I saw this in my inbox. I responded, and the next day, I got home from coaching my 5th and 6th grade basketball team (also of course named the Lakers!) and saw a package on my doorstep. It was a game authentic, in Sacre's actual 3XL +4 inches length jersey. When I gave it to my brother, I don't think I have ever seen him so happy. He actually gave me a hug and then skipped away.
So thank you Lakers, for making my brother Montgomery's 18th birthday special. Just a class organization and a story I wanted to share with you all.
Thanks for reading.
