NBA SSR Fantasy League Playoffs - Semifinals

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

Quarterfinals Breakdown:

In the shocker of the first week of the playoffs, 8th seed Emotional Beefcakes took down top seeded, but injury plagued, Slumdog Trillionaire 5-4. Kevin Durant & Chris Paul weren't enough for Slumdog Trillionaire, as lost games to Pau Gasol and Danny Green were enough to take down the #1 seed. The #2 seed, Honey Badgers, defeated Master Chucker 6-3. Exceptional shooting and solid play all around vaulted him to the victory. Of course, getting zero games from David Lee proabably didn't help Master Chucker at all. The trade that propelled him into the playoffs, ended up costing him in the end.

In a match-up that might look close on paper, wasn't that close at all. Dinkers and Dumpers took down PoP Goes the Beasle 5-4, to take the House Martell crown. However, every single category in that match-up was a blowout at the end of the week. I guess these two teams were exact opposites. The closest categories were 3pt% and blocks. Dinkers and Dumpers won 3pt% by 31% & PoP Goes the Beasle won blocks by 7. In our final playoff match-up, LFE crav'n dat Curry defeated Wow such doge 7-2, to retain his House Lannister division title. Joakim Noah, Mike Conley & Paul George weren't enough to pick up the shortcomings that Evan Turner, Wesley Johnson, Danny Granger and even Arron Afflalo had late in the season.

Semifinal Match-ups:

In a rematch of last year's finals, Honey Badgers will take on LFE crav'n dat Curry. Both teams are relatively healthy, with the exception of Mario Chalmers resting a sore quadricep for LFE crav'n dat Curry. The only question mark for Honey Badgers will be if Greg Popovocich decides to rest Tim Duncan or not. The Spurs do have a back to back on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Other than that, this match-up probably will end 5-4, with points being the deciding factor. LFE crav'n dat Curry has a team built to produce in rebounds, assists, steals & blocks. While, Honey Badgers does produce well in those areas, his areas of strength are the %'s and TO's. Honey Badgers edged out LFE crav'n dat Curry 541- 515 in points last week, but Tim Duncan played in every game and Mario Chalmers missed two and a half games. These two teams met back in week 9, with Honey Badgers edging out LFE crav'n dat Curry 5-4. This one is gonna be close folks!

In out other match-up, 8th seeded Emotional Beefcakes will try to carry his momentum from last week's upset into a match-up against Dinkers and Dumpers. This match-up could come down to health for Emotional Beefcakes. Anthony Davis missed the last two games with an ankle issue, and was even seen on crutches on Friday. Does a team that is not even going to be in the playoffs, bring back a franchise player who isn't 100% healthy? And Russel Westbrook. His minutes are down and the Thunder are taking it easy on him. The Thunder do have a back to back set on Monday and Tuesday of this week. However, Reggie Jackson is also hurt for the Thunder..... Dinkers and Dumpers' late season trade is carrying him far into the playoffs. The addition of LeBron James and Goran Dragic have made his team that much better. Not to mention he missed out on all the fun of Kyrie Irving's injury. These two teams played once during the regular season, with Emotional Beefcakes beating Dinkers and Dumpers 5-4 in week 17. That was, however, before the LeBron James trade.

Good luck to all!
