Thanks to my main man...Dwight Howard

Just wanna say thank you to Mr. D12 in behalf of the other Laker fans who likewise enjoyed the good effort he put up despite his less than perfect health last year. It was an absolutely horrendous season for the Lakers what with the various injuries to key players and the coaching switch to boot. I shudder at the thought of what could have become of the Lakers if D12 didn't suit up at all for them.

I totally get it if other Laker fans feel differently regarding Dwight's stay here in LA. I absolutely would have loved to see Dwight stay but I do get it why he chose not to. So tell me, who wouldn't want to be a part of the tradition, the long line of great names, the championships, the beautiful city itself? Not many will turn down that opportunity but there is another great reason to play for the Lakers...the chance to play and win one for the greatest owner in professional sports, the late Dr. Jerry Buss. This transition to Jim Buss is not the most attractive sell despite all the other good reasons, right? As a fan, what I see is instability. You are not alone Dwight if you don't have much confidence in the FO. You are not alone if you felt irritated by the decision to proclaim Mike D'Antoni as the replacement coach for Mike Brown instead of the people's choice, your choice...the logical choice anyway, Phil Jackson. You are not the first one to feel slighted about not being asked for preference for a coach...Kobe Bryant wasn't asked first about Mike Brown, right?

So yeah, I also read the "I will not coach again" statement from PJ or the "I will coach only if..." blah, blah, blah...but I think it is insulting to anybody's intelligence for Mitch to say that Mike D'Antoni is the best choice moving forward knowing that Phil or an arrangement that would involve Phil was available at that time when you are trying to show Dwight that you are genuinely honest about building a statue of him in front of Staples Center sometime in the future. Just give us the straight answer please! As if announcing the Josh McRoberts and Troy Murphy acquisitions the year prior as 'exciting trades' for the Lakers wasn't enough insult, right? Give us the freaken straight talk would ya? I know the Buss' penchant for gambling but you can't bluff us Jim with this play of words. Just tell it as it is! Bad decision by the league to overturn the CP3 deal to the Lakers! McRoberts and Murphy were not exciting trades but that is all you could afford at that moment! You chose MD'A not because he is the best choice moving forward but it is because you didn't want any part of Phil! Just say it straight up, Jim! So what if you get fined by the league if you threw some bad words at them...so what if you declare to the world that you do not like your future brother-in-law...so what if the McRoberts and Murphy trade do not even make it to the papers?

Just be real with us fans Jim! You might make mistakes here and there but so what...just keep it real with us fans at least. Many will cite Dwight's psyche or his gut for the decision to leave but I don't see it that way. Appreciate that stint with us D12 and lots of luck to ya.
