Lakers rumors: Clippers interested in Earl Clark, according to report

USA TODAY Sports

The Lakers free agent forward is gathering more interest from around the league.

The Los Angeles Clippers are interested in Los Angeles Lakers free agent forward Earl Clark, according to ESPN's Chris Broussard. The Clippers join the Cleveland Cavaliers as two teams that have been linked to Clark, while the Lakers have also reached out to his agent.

Clark was scheduled to meet with the Cavaliers for a second time on Wednesday after an initial visit Tuesday. The sides reportedly have "mutual interest", though no official offer has been made.

The Lakers would like to bring Clark back but finding a contract that suits both sides could be difficult for the front office, especially if other suitors continue emerge. The Lakers are unlikely to offer Clark a multi-year deal as they prepare their salary structure for future free agency classes, according to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News.

The Clippers have had an incredibly active Summer. They acquired head coach Doc Rivers from the Boston Celtics, have traded Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler for Jared Dudley and J.J. Redick, and could now be looking at adding more depth to their forward rotation by signing Clark to the roster.
