Lakers free agency rumors roundup: Dwight Howard meetings, Earl Clark meeting Cleveland Cavaliers

Dwight Howard has finished three of his meetings and will finish his free agency meetings with the Lakers tonight. The lates Lakers free agency updates.

Dwight Howard has completed his free agency meetings with the Golden State Warriors, Atlanta Hawks and Houston Rockets. The Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers will meet with Howard today and are the last teams he plan's on holding presentations with.

There have been scarce details on the presentations from the Hawk and Warriors. Atlanta's meeting has been described as going "well", Ramona Shelburne of ESPN reports. Hawks general manager Danny Ferry and new head coach Mike Budenholzer met with Howard.

The Hawks have also indicated they have interest in trading for Rockets center Omer Asik if Howard lands in Houston, sending Josh Smith out to the Rockets in a sign-and-trade. The Rockets met with Smith on Monday and have discussed offering him a maximum contract outright if Howard does not sign with Houston, reports Adrian Wojnarwoski of Yahoo! Sports.

The Warriors meeting with Howard has been equally quiet. Jerry West, who serves as a consultant for the Warriors, was at the meeting with Howard. Joe Lacob, Bob Myers, and Mark Jackson were also part of the Golden State group. The Warriors will have to acquire Howard in a sign-and-trade and are prepared to make a package of Andrew Bogut and either Klay Thompson or Harrison Barnes available.

The Lakers have not discussed a sign-and-trade deal with any team, reports Ken Berger of CBS Sports.

Little is known about the Maverick's pitch to Howard, but they will meet with the big man prior to his meeting with the Lakers.

Howard's meeting with the Lakers will conclude his free agency meetings. Mike D'Antoni, Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Mitch Kupchak, Jim Buss and executives from Time Warner have all been confirmed as part of the Lakers presentation. The Lakers have not finalized their list of participants but currently Jeanie Buss, Magic Johnson and Phil Jackson are not expected to there.

Other free agency updates

Earl Clark is meeting with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday, reports Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times. The Lakers have called Clark's agent to express their interest in bringing back the forward. L.A. is expected to try to retain Clark but it will be based around the contract he seeks. The Lakers are unlikely to make a multi-year deal according to the report from Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News.

Mike Dunleavy is already off the market. After the Lakers were one of a handful of teams interested in Dunleavy the Chicago Bulls came to a verbal agreement with him. The deal is expected to be a two-year $6 million deal.
