Lakers news: Robert Sacre agrees to deal with Lakers

The last pick of the 2012 NBA Draft will be back for the Lakers.

The Los Angeles Lakers have officially re-signed center Robert Sacre, the organization announced in a press release Wednesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed per team policy. Los Angeles extended a qualifying offer to Sacre, making him a restricted free agent, and he will accept the offer to return to the Lakers.

Sacre was pick No. 60 in the 2012 NBA Draft. He appeared in 32 games for the Lakers in 2012-2013, averaging 1.3 points and 1.1 rebounds per game. He also played in eight games for the Lakers' D-League affilliate the D-Fenders and averaged 11 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.

Sacre could see an increased role with the departure of Dwight Howard. The Lakers' current frontcourt rotation includes Pau Gasol, Chris Kaman, Jordan Hill and second-year player Sacre. Mike D'Antoni will need to replace the minute load for Earl Clark, Antawn Jamison and Dwight Howard in his big man lineups.
