Dwight Howard not ready to return to action against Detroit Pistons after receiving PRP procedure on shoulder. Still listed as day-to-day.
Dwight Howard flew out to Los Angeles just a few days ago to receive a platelet rich plasma procedure on his right shoulder. While PRP doesn't require a player to miss any specific window of time, Howard will not be ready to play in today's game against the Detroit Pistons, per Lakers reporter Mike Trudell.
Howard flew to L.A. on Friday & received a PRP injection on Saturday morning before meeting the team in Detroit, but he’s not ready to play.

Despite returning to the team yesterday, Dwight will continue to be listed as day-to-day as he attempts to rehabilitate his shoulder. He has tweaked it multiple times, and while a PRP procedure can help with the pain and accelerate the healing process, it doesn't make the issue of playing with a torn labrum go away. The Lakers next play the Nets in Brooklyn on Tuesday, and we'll keep you posted here at Silver Screen and Roll on the latest.
***UPDATE***
A few words from Dwight Howard on his shoulder, and status:
Howard still will not even entertain any questions about surgery. His message is he wants to be able to finish the season, not rush back

Dwight Howard: "It's still sore. Certain movements hurt. I don't want to go out there in any pain, thinking about it too much." #Lakers

Howard was noncommittal about his status for Tuesday at Brooklyn, saying he’ll just have to see how the shoulder feels.

Dwight Howard just spoke to us. He seems disappointed that the shoulder is still sore. No guarantee he'll play in Brooklyn.

Dwight said his shoulder pain has decreased but wasn't sure if he would be ready to play Tuesday in Lakers-Nets game either.
