The Los Angeles Lakers have been quiet as the deadline approaches, but Yannis Koutroupis of HOOPSWORLD reports that the Lakers made a run at Daniel Gibson of the Cleveland Cavaliers:

According to sources the Lakers made a push for Cleveland Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson, but were not able to put together a deal to Cleveland’s liking.

Earlier, it was reported that the Lakers were dangling Chris Duhon, Steve Blake, Darius Morris, and Devin Ebanks at the cost of a second round draft pick, but unsurprisingly there has been little to no action for the Lakers

Gibson is averaging 6.6 points per game while shooting a dismal 36.1% from the field, and has a $4.79 million expiring contract. It's unclear what the Lakers were offering Cleveland, or why the Lakers were specifically interested in Gibson, though he is a career 41.5 percent shooter from deep.

Color me surprised the Lakers couldn't stick a deal together with the end of the bench.
