An MRI has revealed that Wesley Johnson has a strained tendon in his left foot. Johnson reported feeling a "burning sensation" in his foot during Sunday night's preseason loss to the Denver Nuggets in the 1st half, and did not return the floor.
Johnson has struggled with his shooting in the preseason, going just 1-5 in the preseason thus far, but he remains in Mike D'Antoni's plans after an apparently strong performance in training camp.
"It could be two bad games, it could be just whatever," D'Antoni said. "I told him today, if you look at the film -- and I don't think he's played well up to his potential -- but with him on the floor, we're a better team. He makes us better. So, that should be comforting that he doesn't have to press. But, we'll see. I think going forward, he'll get his rhythm."
Johnson's status is listed as day-to-day, and there is no word yet as to whether the Lakers anticipate having Johnson for tomorrow night's re-match with the Nuggets.
