The Los Angeles Lakers will rest Steve Nash Wednesday night against the Golden State Warriors, reports Los Angeles Times reporter Mike Bresnahan. The team is officially implementing a plan that will allow Nash to rest one game in every back-to-back set.
The team will use their point guard depth behind Nash to help ease the blow of allowing the 39-year-old to take a night off routinely. Nash has struggled with neck and ankle issues during preseason and said that his body did "strange things" during the opening game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Lakers have 19 back-to-backs through the season, putting the maximum amount of games Nash will play at 63 potentially. It is unclear whether he will always sit out the second half of the back-to-back or if it will be dependent on other factors.
