Lakers, in a four way deal that sent Bynum to the Sixers, finally got Dwight Howard. Without giving up Gasol either?! Surprise much? I am.
Earlier this off-season the Lakers got Antawn Jamison from the cavs, and traded for Steve Nash.
Now the reason the Lakers will be tough to beat is because
Kobe = Clutch and Shot + Nash = Clutch and Pass + Dwight = Paint dominance on both sides of the court + Gasol = strong help defense, defensive presence, and 7 feet + Meta = Defense + Jamison and Hill = Strong Bench. Put it all together and you get what? Championships and lots of em!
Just think about it. Nash draws double teams, with that Kobe will be left open at times, and Nash being the key facilitator that he is, will find him, as he has always been able to find the open man. Then Jamison is a beast shooter, they can't cover him with Nash and Kobe on the floor. Then, they have no choice but to double team Howard in the post, and after doing that, Gasol will get easy, clean open looks. And no, last but not least we cannot forget about Metta World Peace. Have we not seen him get the defensive player of the year award before? Has he not been in the all-star game, have we not seen him, in the absence of Kobe, shoot the clutch game-winning buzzer beater three before, I believe he did. And with that said, leave him open and he can score. So Bye Miami Three, and hello Lakers 5!
