DJO

Hello there Silver Screen and Rollers. Im a long time viewer first time poster. I just wanted to talk about Darius Johnson-Odom

First off, Let me say that I've been a Lakers fan for awhile and I use this site to see whats happening in LakerLand. I appreciate all the bloggers and posters here because you guys give me something to do while i'm at school or work etc. Now on to DJO. When we first drafted him I was a little upset, mainly because that was our FIRST pick later in the second round when we could have been in the first, but as I did a little more investigating i fell in love with his Vertical. 41 inches is amazing. And add in the fact that me and him are so similar physically i felt like he was someone i should keep an eye on. Well lucky for me i happened to cancel a date with a female I'm interested in and call off work to go to a nearby Pro-Am and guess who was in the Starting Rotation?!! When the announcers called his name i immediately slid to the edge of my seat and tuned in to watch the new addition to the Lakers. And boy did he impress. Now to be honest the game was competitive for about three quarters but in the fourth everyone knew it was pretty much over. what i saw in those three quarters made me excited to be a Laker fan. Darius Johnson-Odom is as advertised. He has a nice shooting touch and can run the floor easily, His shot off the dribble looked better than I'd seen/heard before. His crossover is also very quick and standing in front of him on a fast break could be quite difficult. But the thing that impressed me the most was his leaping ability. This guy has out of this world hops. He pulled off a reverse windmill with ease and got down like nothing happened. The most exciting play came a quarter after he appeared to tweak his ankle going for a steal during the opposing teams fast break. One of his teammates took the ball from an amateur lobbed the ball down the court DJO catches it takes a dribble and does a 360 jam that would make a young Jason Richardson jealous. And he did it on a hurt Ankle!! I'm telling you guys, if given the chance he is going to make noise this season
