Listen, Lakers have alot of issues that need to be worked out. I'm not opposed to moving Pau, Bynum, or BOTH if need be. People need to realize we can't just get Dwight, Deron or any other superstar. Don't forget we are WAYYY over the salary cap as is, and neither wants to come to LA to play with Kobe! We can't just expect them to take a pay cut . If we get Dwight and Deron we'll be in the same situation as the Heat, 3 major stars, lack of everything else including a bench. Or like we are now.
So hear me out. What about Demarcus Cousins plus filler or whatever for Bynum? I checked his stats against all the top teams, and they aren't that far off from Bynum.
Cousins averaged 18.1 ppg, 11 rebounds, 1.2 blocked shots pg and is a 70% free throw shooter.
Bynum averaged 16.7 ppg, 11.1 rebounds, 3.1 blocked shots pg and was a 78% free throw shooter this season.
Cousins is ONLY due a lil over 7 million over the next 2 years with a team option on the 3rd, which is the same year Pau, Kobe, and I believe Metta's contract come off the books, so he can always be replaced then, when we'll have a ton of money and space. Picking up Bynum's team option would mean he's due over 30 million the next 2 years, and we're already above the cap as it is.
Their stats aren't too far off from each other, plus imagine how much more points he could get with a better point guard like Sessions of even from Kobe? Plus he's wayy younger and cheaper than Bynum. Then we could possibly get other good free agents like Beasley, OJ Mayo, Kris Humphries etc, that's saving ALOT of money.
Just an idea, curious to hear what others think. Remember we need DEPTH!!!!
