Starring: Pau Gasol is the odd man out this weekend as Bynum and Kobe are headed to Orlando for All-Star Weekend. Which is a shame considering he is beginning to show black swan Pau of late. Even then, the Lakers didn't have enough horsepower to match the run and gun Thunders:

Bynum was brusque with reporters after the loss Thursday night and walked away, saying: "We played like (expletive) and we got beat."

Speaking of Bynum, he is going to undergo a routine knee procedure:

Andrew Bynum did not seek any postgame treatment for his problematic right knee despite some discomfort in the final moments of the Lakers' loss Thursday night in Oklahoma City.
Bynum had previously been scheduled to receive a Synvisc injection from his personal doctor, David Altchek, in Port St. Lucie, Fla., on Friday.

It doesn't sound serious, though any headline with the words "Bynum" and "Knee" are bound to worry us a bit. He'll still be able to play in the all star game so he should be okay.

Much more after the jump...

I don't care if Bynum plays this weekend, as long as he's okay to play next week.

He got hit and tweaked it a little, but said he was fine. This injection isn't related to that.

Team USA in Vegas

Anybody else planning to attend the game versus Dominican Republic? Last time team USA had exhibition games in Vegas before the 08 olympics, I could have sworn the stands were empty! evene for the team USA vs. team USA scrimmage were Kobe hit the game-winner. Prime opportunity to see our countries best ballers followed by some vegas dancers ;)

Bynum landed against Gasol and tweaked his knee.

Seems his teamates hurt him more than the opposition, in his career.
Playing in a phone booth will allow that to happen.
Needs to work on base-foot movement in the post.
bummer.

Just when we say "why do we need Howard"?

We remember two words. “Knee” and “Injury”

Lakers and Patriots forever.

Guys, Bynum is not injured, the procedure was planned before last night.

It’s just a routine thing…

Rasheed Wallace to sign with the Lakers?
ORLANDO, Fla. — There’s at least one team apparently still with a need for Rasheed Wallace.

CSNNE.com has learned that the former Boston Celtic forward plans to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Wallace hasn’t played in an NBA game since Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals, alerting the C’s shortly before the game that he planned to retire.

Although he had two years remaining on his contract, Wallace and the Celtics came to terms on a buy-out of the remaining years believed to be worth about $1 million.
His addition will likely fuel rumors that the Lakers will become even more aggressive in their decision to trade away Pau Gasol.

However, a front office executive whose team has had both internal and external discussions about Gasol, said the addition of Wallace will only be to strengthen their bench.

“His days as a starter in this league are gone,” said the source. “I think he knows that, and so do the Lakers. But think about it. Of the big men that are available, is there one that’s really better? And if he’s gotten himself in shape, adding him becomes a huge get for them.”

As for the Celtics, Boston had no interest in reuniting with Wallace when word spread that he was planning to make a comeback. And that lack of disinterest, CSNNE.com has learned, was mutual.

Whatever happened to us getting young and athletic players?

No offense, but I don’t want us to get old veterans in our team….

Proud to be a brony.

we need backup big

since Murphy is a horrible defender and Brown refuses to play McBob. This isn’t supposed to be a long term solution to our problems.

and

if he can still play, who cares if he is old?

by shawism on Feb 24, 2012 1:44 PM PST up reply actions

As long as he can still defend he'll be useful...

It does probably mean we’re gonna look to trade a big…

I do agree we need help at backup center spot...

but, if Rasheed is FO’s answer to our 3 point shooting; then we are doomed.
