You should shoot this much.

What a game last night.

In Los Angeles' 96-91 victory last night over the Dallas Mavericks, no emotion was spared as the Lakers took the fans on a rollercoaster ride of excitement, joy, fear, anger and helplessness. Uneasy that the Mavs had clawed back into the game with minutes remaining, getting within one point of of the Lakers, our stomachs churned with each clank of the rim as Laker after Laker missed free-throws.

In a game where Kobe struggled, Pau and Bynum were asked to step up and delivered. The most surprising player to step up for the Lakers? Derek Fisher, and that's not a typo. C.A Clark explains:

Derek freaking Fisher trolled us all, scoring 15 points on 8 shots, including his clutch shot of the month, a big three-pointer to extend the Lakers' lead to 5 late in the game.

Fisher commented on what finally decided the game:

Well, Matt Barnes finally made a couple of free throws, so that was big for sure. Also, having a bit of a cushion on the road is big. We’ve played from behind a lot in our road games, and to have that cushion so that when things don’t always go as well, you can still get a win.

Quick flight out to Oklahoma to face the Thunder tonight. This may not end well.

he needs to realize as he's not an NBA star

he’ll be a perfect example of whats wrong with the NBA even if he’s just a crazy sob and it has nothing to do with the NBA

So why is that Larry Bird photo my new favorite Bird photo?

He’s not getting stuffed by a Laker, he’s not in Lakers purple/gold. He’s not losing to the Lakers …..

HOLY SHIT
Most likely to be traded: Steve Nash, Suns. It’s all up to Nash — if he wants to be dealt to a contender, the Suns will oblige. Finally, it may be time.

I dont think we have anything to offer the Suns

that they would be interested in.

Unless they want some young players (Morris, McRoberts, Ebanks) and a couple draft picks.

If you think it puts you over the top and in range to make some noise in the playoffs, it's a real possibility.

Indy in particular would have to seriously consider such a deal.

I distinctly remember the announcer saying “Fisher with a foot on the line.” I know because I yell out “not another foot on the line shot Fisher… you idiot” and then my wife told me, “Calm down; it went in.”

Beat me to it!

Just as I was to paste the link. Surprisingly, it seems we do have an offensive scheme. Here I was thinking that it was give the ball to Kobe and get the heck out of the way…

by mr suave on Feb 23, 2012 9:51 AM PST reply actions

I give a lot of credit to Bynum for biting his tongue when it comes to Kobe’s ball handling in the 4th at times. There were 2 straight possessions in which Bynum sealed his man and was looking for the ball, only for Kobe to keep dribbling around the top of the 3pt line.

Also the Mavs kept jumping the picks that Pau was setting putting Kobe in almost an automatic double team.

It’s an old cliche, but “run the offense” and things just seem to work out better for the team. Except when Troy Murphy shoots his arc-less cannonball shot. That thing is hideous.

OMG! I just seen the JD2k highlights. I know they are only Laker highlights

but damn! this team plays so good when it wants to. Fuckin fisher!

btw..there isn’t any team that can defend a play that involves Kobe, Gasol and Bynum. If the NBA counted hockey assists Kobe would be number 1 in the league.

The only way I can conceivably see Nash coming to L.A. is if we're willing to give up Drew.

Only way that happens is if Phoenix is willing to give up Gortat and Dudley as well. So, needless to say, this isn’t happening from either end.

I wonder what Lakers did to make Mike Brown wonder: 'How the hell did you win championships doing this stuff?'
“It’s a constant learning process for him, coming to a group that we know how to play so well together and so forth,” Bryant said. “We have certain things that are habitual for us, whether it’s pre-game routines and other stuff. They seem shocking to him: ‘How the hell did you win championships doing this stuff?’ But it works for us. It’s just a matter of him kind of getting used to it. He’s doing it.”

He probably walked in on them meditating and doing yoga and stuff while Bynum was off reading some book.
