Agent Zer- WTF IS SHANNON FLOATING???!!!

The Los Angeles Lakers return to L.A after their 6-game road trip. Last night's win, a 94-92 contest, bumped the Lakers to 3-3 on the trip. After the game, Coach Brown was asked about the .500 Grammy trip:

We would have liked to have more wins on this road trip but to go 3-3 is not bad from the standpoint that I told our guys that they have to remember that this season is not a sprint, this is a marathon. We have just got to keep getting better little by little and again, whether we won or lost I thought we got a little better tonight.

Kobe commented on his thoughts about the team thus far:

We are a poor road team and that is what we need to turn around. If we could figure out how to way to win on the road our record would be much, much better. We are a very good home team.

Elsewhere, reports surfaced that the Lakers had observed a workout from Gilbert Arenas. More on thoughts and news on this as the story develops, for now, enjoy the rest of the links. Happy Monday, folks.

I'm a little sad that Henry Abbott's influence has permeated even Laker fans' heads.

To the point where the game recap seemed to focus as much on the missed shots before the end of the game as Kobe’s magnificent finish: a 3-pointer, a steal, an assist, and the gamewinning jumper.

If you look at the plays before that on paper, sure, Kobe missed some shots. But he wasn’t just jacking up long 3-pointers. I saw Kobe:

  • attempt to get the ball inside, but either a misread or a miscommunication caused an easy turnover
  • make at least three strong moves to the basket, one of which he just missed and the other two where he drew enough contact to get a foul
  • play excellent defense, including a terrific, strong but controlled closeout on a Kleiza 3-point attempt from the top of the circle

And it’s not like he forced Steve Blake to turn the ball over either. I also recall Kobe creating at least a few open jump shots throughout the game for other players who simply missed wide open shots.

Trust me, C.A. (Unless I'm mixing CA up with Dex...) isn't under Henry Abbott's influence.

I didn’t think Kobe’s game was terrible, but Kobe had a bad shooting night the first 47 minutes of play.

Well I'm just pointing out

the nature of the Kobe’s misses were different than the general Abbott storyline.

I’m happy with Kobe making strong moves to the basket at any point in the game, and I think at home he would have gotten 2-4 free throws for his efforts.
