Around SBN: Yankees Deny Rumors That Team Is For Sale

The Credits: "Carnage"

Starring: The Lakers winning ugly. Very ugly. However, the important thing is the Lakers beat the Celtics in overtime. This was another trademark Lakers game with a slow pace and minimal contributions from the bench. The Lakers' uninspired play outside of the big three continued:

World Peace compensated by doing some very good work on Paul Pierce, but on the other end the Lakers spend a lot of time playing three-on-five. It's a lot to overcome. So unproductive was Fisher, who missed all seven of his shots and matched his assist and turnover totals with two, Mike Brown went with the Tin Man rusty Blake down the stretch and into overtime.

However, we'll take any win at this point in the season, especially against a surging Celtics team while on the road. The team still has a ways to go, and Kobe is confident a move will be made in the near future. Pau Gasol was left off the All Star team, and get ready for Lin-Sanity tomorrow night!

Much more after the jump...

LOL so true.
5. After a brief respite, the 3-point shooting was again an issue.

Just 1-for-15 overall, a number that might have improved had the Lakers paid more attention to where they put their feet. (Seriously, name another team in the league that hits more toe-on-the-line would-be triples. I dare you.) Even your average, run-of-the-mill off-shooting night likely means the Lakers run away with it.

Wow i was just thinking about that yesterday

i mean c’mon, its about timing, and Rhythm, i want to cut them some slack because as Kobe said this is pretty much they have only had three practices all season. i’m happy for the W,

and to take this completely off Subject BYNUM! he introduced something to his game that had been missing, which will be huge, if he continues, that is the Offensive rebounding and specially the putbacks. your really can’t teach height, glad he’s on our side with his continued progress.

LMFAO
What if I told you that Bryant boarded the Lakers’ team bus in Boston on Wednesday, declared the torn ligament in his right wrist healed despite having not missed a single one of the first 25 games of the season, looked at his teammates and just said: “You’re welcome.”

LOL, that's awesome. There should be a video.

It didn't really happen just Ding trying to be funny.
Rather believable, I’d say. Not in any way true – except for the wrist being healed, which he revealed to me after practice – but it’s certainly the sort of thing Bryant might say.

So, uh, Jeremy Lin really is the Tim Tebow of the NBA.
It’s important to note that Lin’s approach to this comparison is far different from the general “surprising sports story” connection. As a devout Christian, Lin, like Tebow, reads all the events of his life as guided and decided by God, to the point where his New Year’s resolution was just to love God more on Dec. 31 than he did on Jan. 1. Lin’s description of Tebow as a pillar of the community is notable — what he does with the platform is as important as what he does on the field. Tebow serves as inspiration for Lin because he’s communicating the glory of Christ on a national stage.

But only if Houston is throwing in Lowry, which looks like an impossibility.

I realize that, which is why the trade probably won't happen.

Just in general, I don't see a team

…………….offering a very good or an elite point guard for Pau. I think what the Rockets offered to the Hornets is what the Lakers can expect. Either that or stay as is.

Kobe will never get the proper thanks.
And because Bryant kept working – on the court, in the training room and in his personal hours wearing ice, kinesiology tape, a brace or that funky oven mitt – there’s still hope for the Lakers.

Only because Bryant kept working, the Lakers are not still imagining how to build.

Love Scola and Martin, but, they are not PG's.

Kobe on Lin. LOL
“I know who he is, but I don’t really know what’s going on too much with him. I don’t even know what he’s done. Like, I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I’ll take a look at it tonight though.”

[Asked again about Lin] “I don’t even know what the [fudge] is going on. What the [fudge] is going on? Who is this kid? I’ve heard about him and stuff like that, but what’s he been doing? Is he getting like triple doubles or some [stuff]? He’s averaging 28 and eight? No [stuff]. If he’s playing well, I’ll just have to deal with him.”

[Would he consider guarding Lin?] “Jesus Christ. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.”

LOL, that's what Chris Mannix was talking about last night. All the questions were about Jeremy Lin, not the fact that the Lakers just beat the Celtics.

Absolutely ridiculous. HE’S THE SECOND COMING!

Linconclusion

i believe it’s really the kind of player that New york has needed, Like the Lakers, the Knicks were sorely needing a good point guard, he’s not great but he’s been good for them. i think it says more about how badly the knicks have been playing as of late, but also they won against the Wizards, lets have some perspective..
