Kobe Bryant reaches a career milestone, the Lakers defense dominates, and the Hornets fall victim to the purple and gold onslaught.
Hey, I don't know if everyone's heard yet, but Kobe Bryant became the fifth and youngest player in NBA history to reach 30,000 points scored, and did so against the New Orleans Hornets, the team that originally drafted him when he was just some 18 year old kid coming out of Lower Merion. Also, Metta World Peace added an accolade to his name, reaching 12,000 points himself. Highlights of the 103-87 victory for the Los Angeles Lakers below, and a video highlighting the historical drive and weave that led to the basket from our partners over at Lakers Nation.
A nice, cushiony win for the Lakers who now have a day off before facing the Thunder in Oklahoma City. Hopefully Dwight Howard can lead the Lakers to honing in on their defensive prowess as a team and we can have more highlights to fawn over in a few nights.
