And the great news just keeps rolling in for the Los Angeles Lakers. Steve Nash has now been diagnosed with a small fracture of his fibula. Mark Medina reported the details over twitter, and revealed that this will sideline Nash for at least a week.

Collective sigh, all together folks.

This was the gamble the Lakers knew they were taking having a 38 year old point guard who has played in over a thousand NBA games. This is an awful development in what has been an exhausting start to the NBA season for the Lakers. Nash having to miss a week compounds several problems ranging from having to play Steve Blake extended minutes, not being able to have the leader of the offense on the floor to learn the sets with the rest of the group, and still having only less than 2 full games of a sample size to even know what the starting lineup looks like together.

The one person who is feeling it just as hard as the fans, though? Mike Brown. That collar around his neck just keeps getting tighter, and the odds continue to stack against him. What a week. I'm going back to playing NBA 2K13 where Nash is averaging 14 assists and I haven't lost a game in 70 outings (not really).
