The Blazers took it to the Lakers last night in their season opener. Damian Lillard had a nice debut and keyed Portland's victory with his pick-and-roll execution. Dwight Howard had a very strong effort for the Lakers, throwing up 33 points, 14 rebounds and five assists, and Kobe Bryant also had 30 points. But it wasn't enough to overcome another poor defensive effort by Los Angeles.
