Nice article by Dave McMenamin

kobe’s competitive fire and desire for excellence maybe influencing Bynum.

I loved the quotes from Bynum in there.
When asked about his first career 20-20 game, Bynum did not boast, saying, “It was about time.”

As for those 22 rebounds, just one off his career high of 23.

“I think in the first quarter I had 10, so I guess I was kind of slacking the rest of the game,” Bynum said.

"What we want to remember—what we will remember—is the indelible vision of Kobe, his arms outstretched, delirious with joy and disbelief, running after and grabbing hold of Lamar Odom’s floating downcourt pass, while all the purple and gold streamers in the world are raining down on the hardwood." - Brian Tung

I’m glad we didn’t get Baron Davis. It would have looked like a desperate move. We don’t need a 250 pound point guard who hardly plays these days.

Crap. Well I guess I am not getting THAT job...

Billy Mac: "Lamar, can you see yourself actually getting in the (boxing) ring"?
Lamar Odom: "No. My face is too pretty."

Can’t believe how soon the all star ballots came out. After just five games players’ names are out too. Further evidence that the game is a joke.

The all star game is in February. They couldn’t push it back because of scheduling… so why not have them up now?

If players emerge as AS-worthy later in the season… that is what coach and player votes are for, not to mention write-in voting.

Why does playing time matter?

On the whole it’s a popularity contest anyway. At this point half of China texted “Yao” to the NBA voting number.

IKR

Pau looks like he just won the lottery, MWP looks like he is in 4th grade saying “here” during roll call.

Billy Mac: "Lamar, can you see yourself actually getting in the (boxing) ring"?
Lamar Odom: "No. My face is too pretty."

where Pau got called for a charge after he thought he made an and-1. looks likeMWP thought the same thing too.

Kobe on Bynum
"The thing that I like about him is that he has an engine inside of him and he wants to do well. He wants to dominate. He has ambition to be great. I think that’s the biggest positive about him aside from all of the physical attributes."

If ding uses this quote one more time...

“I really want to win for him in the worst way, because I see how much he works and I see how much he wants it,” Bryant said. “I hear the criticism he takes, and I believe it to be unwarranted. It makes me want to work even harder than I already am.”

we got it ok…we really do

He'd still play

shoot everything left handed.
