Around SBN: Sixers Vs. Celtics: Countdown To Game Seven

The Credits: "Man On A Ledge"

Starring: Two franchises headed in different directions. What is the Lakers' identity so far? Mike Brown is unsure himself. Are the problems more on the defensive end or the offensive end? Tonight, the Lakers face their so-called "rivals", the Los Angeles Clippers. Last game, there were 5 technical fouls assessed, as the game became chippy. Matt Barnes had some choice words for Blake Griffin:

He's an amazing athlete. He can dunk, he can do everything, he just flops. I don't understand. He can do all this stuff on the offensive end but on the defensive end.. he just does some other stuff. I just don't understand.

Blake Griffin's response:

I don't really have much to say to him or to that. If he's mad that I try to take a charge, so be it. I'm not worried about Matt Barnes and if he thinks I'm flopping.

It should be an entertaining game. Let's hope the Lakers' first full-contact practice since training camp will sharpen their focus tonight.

Much more after the jump...

I've lost some respect for Blake Griffin and not just because of his flopping. We have guys who flop too (they're not as big as him, though).

And he looks like a fucking zombie in that pic.

What else?

Is it his constant preening? Which I would have no problem with (Kobe!) once he actually accomplishes more than a gifted dunk contest win.

Gasol may be a public relations genius...

If his quote about the inside-out difference between the teams gets back Orlando’s way, that might up the dubiousness factor that Howard has about coming here. He may have just interviewed himself out of another possible move across the country!

Phil Jackson would be proud.

Whatever Gasol

Orlando actually has good shooters around Howard, pick ur poison then we sure can’t work off his ass, Dwight actually does something when he receives the ball not pass back out to Kobe, get striped or stand around looking stupid. When Lakers actually get a killer shooting I’ll think about it

Not a bad analogy at all

Although while Gary Payton was a GREAT player I think Chris Paul is a little more dynamic then Payton. It wouldn’t surprise me though to see a couple first round flame outs and a couple of deep playoff runs with the Clips as we saw with the Kemp/Payton Sonics.

I have noticed like zero trading scenarios so far in this post's comments...

Which is stagerring, considering like 99% of comments are usually intense rosterbation.

Maybe some can still pumped about rooting this particular team on? I mean, this squad has created quite a few good memories the past few years. Regardless of how you feel about Fish and Gasol now, they’ve delivered a whole lot for you in the past.

Trying to stick behind them and believe in them when things don’t look so rosy, I don’t know, I think they’ve earned a bit of that. A big bit.

after almost a third of the season....

can we start assuming that Mike Brown was a terrible hire?

When will people learn.. the greatest of all time wore number 32 and wore purple and gold....

Imo its More terrible roster moves than coaching.

The coach doesnt miss wide open shots, turn the ball over and sign shitty bench players.

I miss Phil

Though I’d say that even if this team was 18-0.

Clippers fan here...

looking forward to a good game…i think your team might come out with a little more motivation and take it…it’ll make the 3rd game that much more exciting!

Cool

We are hoping for a win tonight, it’s not a given, in Lakers current state so this should be interesting
