If every game this season looked like that second game against Denver, then there might be something to this. The fact is, whether he’s hitting or missing, it’s important for Kobe to be taking those shots now. Also, the more scoring explosions he has now, the easier it will be for Pau and Bynum to get their own points later, as teams get painful reminders of what Kobe can do to them and have to focus their defense on him.
