My bigger problem was him playing outside the offense so much
when Drew was clearly having his way when he got the ball. I’m okay with some Kobe-iso’s, but especially on an off night, he needs to recognize when to work within the offense. The play where Gasol dished to him inside was because he was willing to give it up and work the offense. Need more of that stuff.

It was not so much the types of shots he took as much as the fact that he took that many shots in the 4th quarter. Throw it into the post to Pau or Bynum and let them do their thing. Bynum kept getting good positions in the post – he just needed the ball. If it’s late in the shot clock and there were no good looks, I don’t mind Kobe then taking those shots.
We’ve all seen this problem before with Kobe, but I thought Kobe’s display of boneheaded selfishness tonight was pretty unprecedented.

1. bynum (or howard) is fast becoming and actually should be our first option. everytime he had the ball, good things were soon to follow. his impact on D was seen through and through. we got ourselves a rim protector. now for him to stay healthy and aggressive.
2. pau had a quiet 20 points. the quiet part has me worried. man, he better post up harrington the next time around. dare i say this? i think the scola-martin-pg trade prior to this season could have been a win-win for us. have you seen the latest stats by those guys? and i’d take love over gasol (over this love has no post game blah blah)
3. kobe looked flat, played flat and looked gassed out. guy regressed and transitioned to a slump. he had open bricks. we can forgive the guy except for his hero balling.
4. mwp and blake, nice, nice play.

if they do make it they are a first round ass whupping waiting to happen as currently constructed.
point is they aren’t going to trade and sign themsleves into a contender, that ship sailed about 3 years ago. They are going to have to rebuild themselves through draft picks and youth until they can get good enough again to attract some superstars. so taking the nets deal isn’t a terrible option come february if the nets are like a 10 win team by then. they aren’t a win now team anymore basically whether they realize it or not.

Especially when u have 2 big men playing pretty well. Idk what he has against passing into the post but they need to get that squared away asap. Its our strength and we should go to it until they stop it. Not contested 3’s early in the shot clock. He could easily avg 7-8 dimes a game which would make the team better as a whole.

Other thing that perplexes me (as it did E-ROC, lol), was the lack of P&R.
Since it was such a big emphasis in other games, even last yesterday, when we had some interesting formations like Bynum setting the pick, sucking the defense in, and Pau filling the space in the high post or at the elbow for an open jumper. It’s supposed to be a big part of the offense and we just didn’t run a whole lot of it today. Even things like the cross screens to help guys post up weren’t there a lot either, and the ball and man movement were so stilted. For all his faults today, Kobe had some nifty passes to guys on cuts and similar, and you wish we put him in position to do similar stuff like via the P&R.
