Argument is silly
Howard is a huge upgrade on Bynum/Odom. It’s arguable as to whether Ellis is an upgrade on Odom considering that he would have to learn how to play competent defense and fit within a larger offense that doesn’t allow him to jack up long twos.
Past this, stop peddling links from your site. The arguments made therein aren’t particularly imaginative and mostly cover tried and familiar topics that have already been beat to death. It’s great that you want to contribute to the overall discussion, but filling up the FanShot list like this borders on being spammy.

Monte Ellis
Monte Ellis is a better choice for the Lakers Dwight Howard serves no purpose. What happens 2 years from now when Kobe leaves. The Lakers will become the Orlando Magic, this is the reason why Howard wants to leave Orlando he claims he don’t have support. In two years he will have a old lakers team. Bynum with Monte Ellis will give the Lakers a chance to rebuild around two young players along with Ebanks,Darius Morris and Goudelock.Plus Gasol.

Yeah, Dwight Howard serves no purpose past being the second or third best player in the game today
And Kobe isn’t retiring in two years unless he has really chronic knee issues, and given how well he takes care of his body, I find that rather doubtful. Even if Kobe and Gasol decline to say average stars, this team will still be far better than the putrid supporting cast Howard has in Orlando, not to mention that L.A. will always be a desired location for players to come, especially if they can chase a ring in the process. Ellis is an overrated gunner with a lot of talent and terrible habits. It’s arguable whether he’s better than Odom, not to mention Howard, who is a vast improvement on Bynum and single-handedly makes his team a top ten defense by his presence alone.
