not sure how i feel about decertification...
especially with the progress made in negotiations

I think decertification is something that was never seriously an option.

It bothers me that things were said to be held up by the likes of Robert Sarver.
The system might be broken to some degree but doing stupid things like bitching about money, then signing $20 million Shaq, who is the complete opposite of the style and system that has made your team successful on the court and with fans is stupid.

Not only that, but the owners are also getting some of the BRI.
I think they have also negotiated a short length on the contracts. I think max length is four years on any deal. That’s really good deal without having to add a salary cap. Salary cap would be icing on the cake.
I don't agree with a hard salary cap...
unless they set it on the slightly high side.

I agree
It amazes me that guys like Gilbert and Sarver, who are not particularly popular amongst their peers, are able to throw a wrench in things. It seems though, as if the blowback might have died down just a bit after the latest news cycle. Fisher seems to be doing a good job of not letting things get out of hand this weekend and I think it works to the union’s advantage. There may be those in the owners’ middle ground who can appreciate that there isn’t a stampede to decertify, and who might start talking more with Buss, Dolan, Reinsdorf, etc.. It’s not that there aren’t frameworks for negotiation in place… it’s just finding enough votes that Stern will stick his neck out for it. IMO.
Once again, it's much too late.
Dave,
I did receive your DM. Late though. I’ll be sure to link it. Thanks!
