These are some trade ideas I came up with that seem quite realistic
I am not totally sure about all of the monetary issues, but more about the players involved. I will also explain potential reasoning for each team.
If Orlando really thinks Dwight is going, then this is the trade I would give to them.
Trade 1:
Dwight Howard, Earl Clark, Ryan Anderson/Brandon Bass for Lamar Odom, Andrew Bynum, Shannon Brown, Ron Artest
Hear me out on this one. The Magic would want this since it gives them a starting PF and Center to go along with their wing players and Jameer at the point. While we would lose 2 of our starting lineup and 2 key bench players, Ryan Anderson or Brandon Bass could easily replace Odom as a good PF off the bench, Dwight is Superman, and Earl Clark could be a really good player in the league if given consistent minutes. This is risky, but I would do this as either GM.
Trade 2:
DJ Augustin for Shannon Brown and Matt Barnes.
We finally get a decent young PG, and the Bobcats get two players that could probably start for them, especially after they dump Jackson. But why dump Augustin? They are in that horrible range of just missing the playoffs while not getting any good draft picks, and getting rid of Augustin allows them to tank even further. A 2nd rounder could be thrown in if necessary.
Trade 3:
Andrew Bynum, Steve Blake, and Shannon Brown for Nicholas Batum, Chris Johnson, and Wesley Matthews.
Chris Johnson is a blocking machine who is only 23, and if he adds weight and gets PT, could be a very good defensive center. Nicholas Batum would give us a young starting SF who can hit the 3-ball and plays excellent D. Wesley Matthews would be a great scorer off the bench who also plays great defense, and in a few years, if he progresses sufficiently, could take the starting job from Kobe. The Blazers finally get a Center to replace Camby and allow LaMarcus Aldridge to play his natural PF position, while Shannon Brown gives them scoring off the bench and energy, and Blake is a good backup for Andre Miller.
Critique away. I really would like to see some responses, since I think these are all fairly reasonable trades.

Trade one is the ideal Dwight scenario
Because they’re not forcing us to take Turkoglu (tolerable) or Arenas (unacceptable). Lakers take that one and run; I would only find it likely if the Magic are really scared of Howard leaving.
Trade two is obviously great, but there’s no reason for Charlotte to make that trade; they’re rebuilding and Augustin is one of the few young pieces they have left.
Trade three is a terrible deal for the Lakers. Bynum for Batum, Johnson, and Matthews? lolwut? I don’t think Blazer fans would be that optimistic. You’re going to give up a borderline All-Star center who is a solid defensive anchor for two slightly above average wings and a D-League big? Yeah, right.

Guess what? Bynum was shut down in all but one game by Chandler and Haywood
Until I see some actual finesse moves from him, he isnt even close to an All Star player, unless his defense and rebounding picks up even more.
lolwut
He’s an elite defensive player. Anyone who watched this team after the ASG and saw Bynum’s Howard-esque domination of the paint can attest to that. He’s not at Howard’s level, but he’d be a borderline DPOY candidate if he played at that level the entire season.
As for the other end, he’s posted four consecutive 20+ PER seasons, which tells plenty about his offensive production. And “finesse moves”? Do you even watch him? He can finish with either hand, is pretty much unstoppable with deep post position due to his strength, size, and length, and has a nice touch from 12-15 feet. And “shut down” by Chandler and Haywood? He was destroying both of them in Games 2 and 3 whenever he got deep position (18/13, 21/10 games), and either didn’t get the ball enough (Game 1) or simply had a bad game, like the rest of the team (Game 4).
If you actually believe that he’s worth the equivalent of again, two average wings and a D-League big, then I don’t have a whole lot to say to you.

I think though
if the magic do try and trade with us, they’ll try and stick us with one of them.
Jason Terry just hit another 3.

Oh, yeah, that's inevitable
Won’t happen otherwise. I’m okay with it if 1) it’s only Turk 2) we get Bass or Anderson back to round out the frontcourt rotation 3) we dump any combination of Blake, Artest, and Walton on them.

Yeah, Arenas isn't worth it
Would only accept him if Nelson was included also. Granted, I’m somewhat convinced that Grover could help Arenas have a McGrady-esque comeback year and become a serviceable player, but I’ll take the guy who has shown he actually (somewhat) play and has a shorter and cheaper contract in Turk.

earl clark is really bad
I’ve seen it with my own eyes

he's a complete head case
great athleticism but not much else PHX tried and tried and tried with him, also he’s not the brightest crayon in the box. but any thing that lands D12 would be good for the lakers, and seems like enough pieces that Orlando might take seriously…that said I hope it never happens

Trade #3 will never happen. As for Trade #1, any trade involving Dwight will inevitably have to involve Turkoglu and/or Arenas as well. As for Trade #2, yeah, we'd get a new starting PG, but as mired in mediocrity as CHA is, don't know why they'd trade aw
basketball doesn't build character, it reveals it
good point on #1
they’ll need to get rid of one of those contracts

Can we even trade Barnes or Brown?
They have player options.

trade 3
I’m a blazer fan, so my question is:
Why would you want Bynum and Oden on the same team? Why would you want an aging Point Guard who will block the progress of your young PGs playing behind Andre Miller? What can Shannon Brown do that Batum and Wes Matthews can’t do?
M, period. Fresh, comma.
haha they are just typical Laker fans
who assume the NBA revolves around LA…little do they know that the Clippers are going to be the team to be rooting for

um...sorry don't see
any of those happen…why do the bobcats make that trade? The trade a nice, young PG for a why who can only dunk and a guy who hits his wife while doing nothing on the court, The D12 trade wont happen simply because They don’t want a 31 year old LO, a 22 year old Bynum who has never played 82 games….Sorry they are getting Cp3 and D12 isn’t leaving orlando
Agreed
No way trade #1 happens.
In fact, their probably will be some kind of work stoppage and the league is pushing for a franchise type tag. I doubt that Howard is going to be let go.
If I am Orlando I am trying hard to add some pieces to help Howard.
THANK U!
Everyone is givng me shit because i’m a kings fan…..Just because i don’t like the Lakers doesn’t mean i don’t know basketball! I live in LA, so the Lakers are everywhere, every radio station, every billboard, every.single.person swearing that the Lake show will be adding D12….i don’t know how…AND how is CP3 coming to LA? What would the hornets take back?? Orlando can give them Gilbert/Bass/Clark/Anderson……Sorry Cp3 could be going to Orlando and Jameer/Bass/Anderson will be playing in NO!

LOL, nobody gives Kings fans shit because that's a big enough cross to bear.
And of course the Lakers are everywhere in L.A. Why is that surprising?

oh no it's not surprising
it’s surprising how many “fans” of the NBA think that D12 is coming to LA
