New direction for 2011 - 2012 seson

This is what the lakers should do,

Trade Andrew Bynum for Chris Paul (i Hate to lose Bynum)

Sign and Trade Steve Blake, Ron Artest and Luke Walton for Marc Gasol

Sign Yao Ming for veteran minimum

Trash Theo Ratliff and Joe Smith or give them to the Wizards

Sign and Trade Devin Ebanks, Derrick Caracter and Trey Johnson for The Wizards Nick Young and Jordan Crawford

Make Derek Fisher a Player Coach

So it will look like:

1st Team                           2nd Team

Chris Paul                         Jordan Crawford

Kobe Bryant                      Nick Young

Matt Barnes                      Shannon Brown

Pau Gasol                         Lamar Odom

Marc Gasol                        Yao Ming

What yall think?

I think we need Chris Paul more than we need Dwight Howard.

Word on the street in O-town

Is that Howard wants to be traded to L.A. (pains me to say that, you SOB’s always stealing Magic players). So if this trade goes down, who would you be okay with losing? and I think that Howard would improve your team way more than Chris Paul.

by Julz on May 9, 2011 12:16 PM PDT reply actions

Well, Bynum would obviously have to go.

There’s no way we can keep both. Neither of them can play PF. In order to make the trade work, we’d have to give up some combination of Blake/Barnes/Brown or Odom.

Personally though, I think CP3 would improve our team better. Going from downright awful at the PG position to excellent (Fisher to CP3) is better than going from great to excellent at the center position (Bynum to Dwight).

Yeah.

I highly doubt it goes through.

Keep Pau???

Hell NO, That guy has punched his ticket out of town. I’m done rooting for such a weak minded individual. I’m all for trying to get D.Howard here…even at the cost of getting rid of Bynum/Gasol. I’d be willing to give up Bynum/Pau and someone else for a combination of Howard and Nelson. That will probably not happen due to salary cap restrictions.

Point is, Pau should be gone, I’ll be alright if most of the bench is gone. Hope they can draft a speedy PG this year.

by King J77 on May 9, 2011 12:27 PM PDT reply actions

I understand your frustration but us fans are forgetting that if it wasn’t for Pau we wouldn’t have went to 3 str8 finals… He was going thru personal problems so I think we shouldn’t be so hard on the guy.. I think him and Kobe can pull themselves back together and start winning again like we should

by Jazzo on May 9, 2011 1:20 PM PDT up reply actions

I don't see

Pau being big for us in the post season going forward, IMO. The blue print for beating him is there. I understand that his head wasn’t all there (which is inexcusable) but that doesn’t change the fact that NO and Dallas were able to make him irrelevant. It was as much him not being all there as it was the opponents playing him in a manner that limited his productivity.

I think Derron Williams is there at the PG and could be brought in. If Kupchak thinks that’s all we need to improve, I’m with it. But personally, I’d rather move Pau and Bynum for D.Howard.

You might be right though, my frustration might just be clouding my judgement right now, i might look at everything differently in a week.

by King J77 on May 9, 2011 1:27 PM PDT up reply actions

well the NBA will allow Pau/Dwight or Andrew/Dwight trade so you dont need to rade both… but i think if there is lees pressure on Pau he should pan out but i could be wrong but i really like pau and i thank him for giving Kobe two more rings, and D Will will cost too much hes not better than CP or D Rose so i wwouldnt do it. But im glad that you can say Maybe your judgement is clouded lol… cuz mine might be too

by Jazzo on May 9, 2011 3:07 PM PDT up reply actions

The Grizzlies don't need anymore Guards

or crappy SF. If they resign Battier (which they should) they would be have no place for any of those players. Also Ming is done. I agree we need PG bad but getting rid of Bynum would only make us weaker on the inside

Well Marc is a free agent and all it takes is Pau sayin come on down and i bet he will come, the only thing is Paying him… right now the Grizz is only giving him around 2 million i think we can spare 10 if we get rid of Luke and Blake.. That is if the current CBA doesnt change for the worst

by Jazzo on May 9, 2011 3:10 PM PDT up reply actions

idealisitic

but not possible

the wizards and the grizz have no reason to agree to this

by matth313 on May 9, 2011 1:40 PM PDT reply actions

The wiz has like 6 Gaurds on there team and they all do the same thing, if they was smart the would at least deal Nick Young

by Jazzo on May 9, 2011 3:11 PM PDT up reply actions

honestly

id be happy with either Chris Paul or Dwight howard

but makes us think they wanna come here?

Dwight already said LA is where he wants to be because of his movie Career, but i dont think we can swing a trade like that with leave our point gaurd situation the same unless Jerry Buss works his Magic as he always manage to do lol

by Jazzo on May 9, 2011 3:12 PM PDT up reply actions

There's so many holes in this post, it's scary.

Bynum for CP3 straight up? The Hornets would respond by laughing and asking what the actual offer is.

Blake, Artest, and Walton for Marc Gasol? Have you seen how Marc has been playing with the Grizzlies? You’d need to give a lot more for him.

Yao Ming for the veteran minimum? That’s basically a waste of a roster spot at this point.

Ebanks, Caracter, and Johnson for Young and Crawford? You’re really reaching now.

Finally, the current CBA prohibits player-coaches and I’m sure the new one will as well.

well i think Fish should retire and saying player coach is in the sense like Brain Shaw being a coach.

Marc is a Free agent so if Marc wants to come then the Grizz has no choice but to take what the Lakers give up for him.

And your right about the Wiz but they have to many Gaurds and if they want a playoff run they need to get rid of atleast two Gaurds because they have about 6

and Yao cant be more of a waste than Theo Ratliff was

by Jazzo on May 9, 2011 3:17 PM PDT up reply actions

Marc is a RFA; Grizzlies are under no pressure to trade him

And by all accounts, they’ll sign him to a contract extension. Washington has no reason at all to make that trade; why would they trade decent players on rookie contracts for worse players on rookie contracts? And I wouldn’t mind Yao, he’s simply not going to be available for the minimum.

Lakers best bet would be to do what they did to Kobe same as they did to Shaq

Kobe’s trade value is exceptionaly high. Lakers could get a lot back. Sure L.A won’t be so great for a while but with Kobe’s bloated contract, its not going to be easy to piece another championship together until he is off the books. just my opinion.

Um...

That contract of his is atrocious, he isn’t getting any younger, and he claims to have “bone-on-bone” knees and permanently-broken fingers. What franchise is going to trade for him at this point?

Oh, man, this is going to be a fun summer
Trade Andrew Bynum for Chris Paul (i Hate to lose Bynum)

Hornets say no because they’re not under any pressure to trade him at this point.

Sign and Trade Steve Blake, Ron Artest and Luke Walton for Marc Gasol

ROFL. Why would Memphis agree to that? Trades are two-way streets. Try to remember that.

Sign Yao Ming for veteran minimum

Fat chance. He’ll get at least $4-5 million/year over two or three years with some guarantees built in. Franchise will reap the rewards in merchandising more than anything even if he doesn’t play.

Trash Theo Ratliff and Joe Smith or give them to the Wizards

They’re free agents. Not our problem anymore.

Sign and Trade Devin Ebanks, Derrick Caracter and Trey Johnson for The Wizards Nick Young and Jordan Crawford

Ernie Grunfeld answers the phone, hears the offer, laughs out loud for ten seconds, and then hangs up.

Make Derek Fisher a Player Coach

Pointless, considering that he essentially is one already. If you’re saying he should be the coach in lieu of a new coach, then definitely no.
