Line is set at -6 Lakers for tonight. They covered the line in 3 out of 6 games this post-season which probably means they wont cover it tonight.
-6 is a very tricky line, specially for the first game of the series. Betting on The Lakers is always risky, specially at home where they usually dont cover the line.
But being that tonight is their 1st game against Dallas, my guess is they try to send a message(i could be wrong).
I think they cover the line, i say Lakers by hmmm 8-12 points.

At some point LA has to start playing like a Champion right? Boston swept NY, Miami ate Philly for “breakfast”, Chicago had some trouble with Indy but beat em’ in 4.
Lakers have played by my count, only 1(game 6) solid game this post-season. That has to change, and what better night, and team to start with.
Thank GOD i was at class and couldnt place my bet in time. Lesson learned: NEVER BET ON LAKERS AT HOME, unless the situation calls for it. Specially not with a -6 line.
Wow, what a garbage performance. Kobe had 29 shots, 0 assists. The next closest guy was Pau/Lamar with 10 FGA’s.
Kobe STILL doesnt know that him shooting 25+ times is detrimental to the team. Blows my mind.
If he doesn't they lose by alot more than 2

I went and re-watched the last 6:13 minutes of the game(ever since Kobe checked back in the game) and here are the #’s
Lakers had a total of 11 possessions. Kobe shot the ball 7 times(making 3, none were in the offense). Turned the ball over twice.
Again, he wasnt the only reason we lost but he didnt help. Doesnt matter that he shot a good %, other players need to shoot the ball. Theres no excuse for him shooting 3 times more than anyone else on the team. 3 years ago, yes, now? With this team. Absolutely not.
Again i feel like i have to say this because of all the Kobe lovers Lakers have. HE WAS NOT THE SOLE REASON WE LOST, BUT HE DIDNT HELP.
lol
You feel you have to say this because you singled out Kobe as opposed to pointing out everything else that went wrong.

so just to throw out a number. Lakers over the past four playoff runs, including this year, have only had 4 such games where Kobe has shot 25+ and had less than or equal to 1 ast. They’re 3-1 in those games. The lone loss being this last one. OMG!!!!!
Just for full exposure, Lakers are 34-26 for Kobe’s entire career when he shoots over 25 shots. They’re 14-10 in the last four playoff runs, including this one, when he shoots over 25 shots.
Not justifying, just pointing it out.
Another random stat for ya, Pau Gasol in the last 4 playoff runs, including this one has shot the ball 10 times or less 19 times. We have a 12-7 record in games Pau shoots 10 shots or less.
Again for full exposure, we’ve had 55 games where Pau has shot 11 or more times. We’re 38-17 in those games.

Should Kobe shoot more than 25 times? No.
Does it happen? Yes. Should Pau shoot only 10 fgs? No. Does it happen? Yes. Do we still majority of the time win those games in the playoffs when either of these things occur? Yes.
Point being, maybe some other factor outside of the amount of shots and asts a player does or doesn’t have is not as big of a deal as we make it seem.
I mean, the Lakers over the last four playoff runs, including this one, are 3-1 in games Kobe shoots less than ten shots. I’d hardly say the course of action is for Kobe to shoot less than ten times. The Lakers are 21-7 in games Kobe shoots between 10 and 20 shots over the last four playoff runs, the exact same win% as games he shoots less than ten shots in. The Lakers are also 19-11 when Kobe shoots between 20-25 shots. So there are some other factors that must be going right because in every single one of these categories the Lakers are #winning. Using shot totals to justify criticism is dumb. Kobe played an uneven end to the game with bright spots and low spots, but the criticism should come from endgame TOs, not volume of shots taken.
